On 28 September 2025, students of The Afghan Girls Tech Academy Initiative in Herat celebrated the completion of the first six months of their program.
The initiative provides Afghan girls with access to practical education and skills at a time when formal educational opportunities for girls remain severely restricted in Afghanistan.
Over the first six months, students studied in several groups covering visual content production, front-end web development, UI design, full-stack development, and mobile application design. Classes were conducted in person in Herat, with mentors supporting students throughout their training.
The completion of this stage marks an important milestone for the students, but their journey with the Academy continues. Change Makers of the World remains committed to supporting them as they strengthen their skills and prepare for future educational and professional opportunities.
The Change Girls Academy is built around a simple goal: give Afghan girls access to skills and opportunities that can help them shape their own futures.
